“This year, Russia opens its doors to all foreign students. The emergency centre helped to establish a special algorithm… Our universities put effort into bringing those students back; this is a task of utmost importance, since last year organization of remote studies posed enormous challenges to many students,” stated Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education at one of discussion venues of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. All foreign students experienced the Covid-related issues in their studies first-hand. “And often the reason is not the operation of Russian universities, but external factors. These include time zone offset, lack of stable internet connection, absence of the necessary digital infrastructure and many more. “This year, we really hope that the step Russia takes, allowing foreign students to enter the country, will help them adapt, and this new study format our universities declare will facilitate the high teaching quality,” said Minister Falkov.
