Visa rules
Student visas in Russia are required for students from most foreign countries. Russia is not a member state of the EU/EFTA, so the EU visa-free entry privilege does not apply for European students. Required Documents for Study Visas in Russia:
- 1A valid passport which will be valid for at least 18 months from the issue date of the visa and with at least two unmarked pages
- 2An official invitation letter from your chosen university
- 3Application form
- 4A certificate showing your HIV-negative status no older than 90 days
- 5A letter of consent from your parents and certified by a notary (if you're under 18)
- 6Photograph 3.5x4.5 cm

Moscow aviation institute was founded in 1930 and is one of the world's oldest aviation institutes.
MAI currently has over 20,000 students, making it Russia's second largest institute in terms of enrollment. Working in scientific and technological corporations such as Roscosmos, Rostec, Sukhoi, Irkut allows MAI students to gain practical skills in addition to in-depth theoretical knowledge.
The "Alferevo" training and aviation base is one of MAI's distinctive features. MAI students learn the art of aircraft piloting as well as the intricacies of aircraft design creation during a month of intensive training. This unique learning experience benefits both pilots and design engineers.

Training costs $ 6,000 in English-language programs and $ 4,400 in Russian-speaking programs.
