Moscow State University of Technology and Management was established in 1953 as the All-Union Correspondence Institute of Food Industry
History of Moscow State University of Technology K.G. Razumovsky
In 1956, Vasily Georgievich Krivosheev, Deputy Minister of the USSR Gustatory Industry, Director of the Higher School of Food Industry, was appointed its rector.

An experienced organizer and specialist, in a short period of time he was able to significantly develop the educational and material base of the university, formed a unique teaching staff. In 1973, the institute prepared 19 thousand students in 17 specialties of technological, economic and biological programs. There were three branches in Rostov-on-Don, Krasnoyarsk and Baku. There are almost four hundred teachers, more than half of them have academic degrees and titles.

In 1991, a full-time department was opened at the institute. In 1999, the university was renamed the Moscow State Technological Academy, and in 2003 - the Moscow State University of Technology and Management (MGUTU).
In 2008, Valentina Nikolaevna Ivanova, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education, laureate of the Russian Federation Government Prize in the field of education, was elected to the position of rector.

In the conditions of competition in the market of educational services and the demographic decline, the team took the focus on improving the quality of training and creating conditions for the successful implementation of educational and scientific programs.
In 2010, MGUTU entered one more page in its history: by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the university was named after the prominent ascetic and organizer of science and education in Russia - the first Russian President of the Academy of Sciences, Count Kirill Razumovsky. Since that time, the university begins active work with the Presidential Council for Cossacks. Chairman of the Council A.D. Beglov put forward the task of forming the vertical of the Cossack education.
Nowadays, MGUTU named after K.G. Razumovsky is a unique industry multilevel and multifunctional educational and scientific complex, in future of which there are many discoveries and achievements!
Currently, the university has 45 thousand students, undergraduates and graduate students, more than 1700 teachers work in it. Over the past five years, the number of full-time students has tripled and reached 4 thousand people, with a simultaneous reduction in the contingent of distance learning by 26%. The number of full-time teachers with a scientific degree and academic rank increased from 53.4 to 85.2%. The volume of research work performed increased 5.2 times.

In the absence of international activity of the university in the 2007-2008 academic year, the university has now concluded international agreements on cooperation and mutual exchange of students and graduate students with 11 foreign universities in France, Germany, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland and Italy, as well as the CIS countries (Belarus, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan). This made it possible to increase the proportion of up to 6% of the number of foreign students who completed the development of educational programs in higher education in the total graduation of students (taking into account CIS citizens) in 2012 to 6%.

The total area of educational and laboratory buildings in Moscow increased more than 3 times and amounted to 44,987 square meters in 2012.

Currently, the university is one of the leading higher educational institutions of the country in the field of training for the food and processing industry, as well as the agro-industrial complex. The University provides training of highly qualified specialists in technical, technological, informational, biological, economic, legal, and humanitarian profiles in 10 institutes. Over the years, over 90 thousand specialists have been trained at the university, who occupy senior positions in state, commercial, research organizations, food and processing industries.

The university implements programs of pre-university, postgraduate and additional professional education. In addition, there is the opportunity to simultaneously receive a second higher education, improve business qualifications, enter graduate school and write a dissertation for the degree of candidate or doctor of science.

Moscow State Technical University builds the interaction of employers, industrial universities and science under the auspices of the personnel and technology alliance created based on the university.

In the year of the 60th anniversary of its founding, the university successfully passed accreditation and monitoring of performance evaluations. The University and its 19 branches are recognized as highly effective structures in the system of higher professional education of the Russian Federation.

The University is in the stage of intensive development and is able to quickly solve the tasks set by the President of the country and the Government to institutions of higher professional education.
