Visa rules
Student visas in Russia are required for students from most foreign countries. Russia is not a member state of the EU/EFTA, so the EU visa-free entry privilege does not apply for European students. Required Documents for Study Visas in Russia:

National University of Oil and Gas "Gubkin University" (Gubkin University) is the leading institution in the system of higher oil and gas education in Russia.

Gubkin University is a powerful national research center and a real source of manpower for the Russian oil and gas industry. According to the proportion of budget income from research, the University is in top rank among the Russian industry universities.

Gubkin University was founded in 1930 by the outstanding scientist, academician Ivan Gubkin. For almost a century, the University has trained more than 90,000 diploma engineers, Candidates and Doctors of Sciences.

Gubkin University actively applies innovative learning methods and the interdisciplinary approach to education, develops infrastructure for training in virtual environment of professional activity based on interactive full-scale simulators, computer models and systems.
Bachelor's and Specialist's programs are undergraduate academic programs awarded to students upon completion of four-year and five/ five and a half-year university studies respectively. Both types of programs require applicants to hold a secondary school diploma

Master's programs are second-cycle academic degree programs awarded upon completion of two-year studies demonstrating mastery or a high-order overview of a specific field. Master's programs require applicants to hold a Bachelor's or Specialist's degree diploma.

Postgraduate school trains academic personnel. Graduating students are awarded a PhD diploma. Postgraduate programs require applicants to hold a Master's or Specialist's degree diploma. Gubkin University curriculum offers a two-tier program in postgraduate studies: applicants work from three to four years of studies toward candidate of sciences designation and afterwards from five to fifteen years toward doctor of sciences designation. Both are viewed as an equivalent to PhD.
