Admission rules

    To collect a folder of required documents for admission: a copy of valid international passport, a copy of the document on graduation with transcript, a certificate of recognition, photograph (3 x 4 cm). All documents must be translated into Russian and notarized or consul-certified.

    Entrance exams. The exams can be passed remotely (online) or in the candidate's personal presence (offline).

Russian student visa
Student visas in Russia are required for students from most foreign countries. Russia is not a member state of the EU/EFTA, so the EU visa-free entry privilege does not apply for European students. Required Documents for Study Visas in Russia:

About university & International cooperation & Educational process
Yaroslavl State Medical University (YSMU) was founded in 1944. And now it has more than half-a-century history. At present, YSMU is the big regional center of excellent quality medical education and bio-medical research. It is also the leader in medical training and post-graduation education, retraining of specialists of practical healthcare, medicine, pharmacy, and high skilled academic staff for the central regions of Russia.

At present about 4500 students are studying at YSMU (including foreign students). Medical training and education are conducted by 57 departments that have all the necessary equipment to provide high quality education according to available Russian and international modern standards. At YSMU, there are prepared highly qualified specialists of all local hospitals and medical institutions and professionals from other regions of Russia. Today the staff of YSMU includes approximately 1200 employees.

The academic staff of YSMU consists of more than 500 persons (instructors). Among them 375 persons have the M.D. & Ph.D. titles (candidates of sciences, assistant and associate professors) there are more than 100 doctors of sciences and full professors. Many of them are members of different Russian and foreign international societies and are well-known scientists and clinicians not only in Russia but all over the world.

International cooperation is one of the priority areas of the University's scientific activity, which is aimed at creating favorable conditions for interaction with foreign partners in the field of education and science, development of academic mobility of students, teachers and researchers.
The university is a major international medical and educational center. Cooperation agreements have been concluded with the Medical University of Kanazawa (Japan), the Medical Faculty of the University of Florence (Italy), the International Institute for Endoscopic Research of the Digestive System of Barcelona (Spain), the Medical Faculty of the University of Salerno (Italy), the Education Center, diagnostics, therapy at the Psychotherapeutic Institute of Bergerhausen (Germany), Gomel State Medical University, etc.

The Russian Endoscopic Research and Education Center, jointly established with the Yaroslavl Regional Clinical Oncology Hospital with the active participation of the Medical University of Kanazawa and the support of the Government of the Yaroslavl Region, successfully operates at YSMU. Now many foreign students are getting their education at YSMU. They represent more than 40 countries (including citizens from Syria, Palestine, Jordan, Morocco, Greece, Tunis, Namibia, Kenya, Zambia, India, etc.).

Modern informational technologies are actively developing in YSMU. All departments have permanent Internet access. These resources are opened both for students and for faculty members, as well as there are special courses for those who wish to extend and improve their qualification in modern informational technologies. There is a big library in YSMU with two reading halls and facilities that are equipped in terms of use data bases and Internet resources.

YSMU have good social facilities and structure (including five hostels, sport centers, student healthcare center, Volga River summer camp, and the garden of medical plants). The university has created all the conditions for the realization of the cultural potential of students, their harmonious development, the upbringing of high moral and moral qualities necessary for professional activity, primarily mercy and humanism.
