Admission rules

To collect a folder of required documents for admission: a copy of valid international passport, a copy of the document on graduation with transcript, a certificate of recognition, photograph (3 x 4 cm). All documents must be translated into Russian and notarized or consul-certified.

Entrance exams. The exams can be passed remotely (online) or in the candidate's personal presence (offline).

Russian student visa

Student visas in Russia are required for students from most foreign countries. Russia is not a member state of the EU/EFTA, so the EU visa-free entry privilege does not apply for European students. Required Documents for Study Visas in Russia:

A valid passport which will be valid for at least 18 months from the issue date of the visa and with at least two unmarked pages

About university & International cooperation & Educational process

One can hardly find a place in Russia with such an impressive number of implemented national projects as in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Our most focused "development points" have been determined in industry, power engineering and energy, research and education. Siberian Federal University, as a response to regional developmental challenges, was established in 2006 to train highly qualified specialists capable of working in any region of our country, including severe conditions of the Northern areas.

In 2018 SibFU employed 30 international teachers and hosted 200 visiting Professors and experts from 27 countries of the world who came to hold lectures and seminars, coordinate projects, etc. The list includes Hernandez Esteve Paula Victoria (Spain), Wang Xinfeng (China), Christoph Deininger (Germany), Tetsujiro Ishii (Japan), Samuel Novakovsky (France), Jerzy Barglik (Poland), Lupi Sergio (Italy), and many others.

In the same year 120 SibFU students studied abroad under grant programs and participated in seasonal scientific and language schools. 85 students took part in internship programs.

A bachelor's degree qualification is assigned after a student have passed a 4-year programme of study. A bachelor receives professional knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies to be employed in a position requiring higher education. The bachelor's degree qualification is a precondition for admission to master's degree programmes. Final state certification includes preparation and defense of a final thesis and state graduation exams. Upon successfully passing the certification, a student is awarded a bachelor's diploma.

Postgraduate programme is based on the results of mastering the programmes of training research and pedagogical staff according to postgraduate (adjunct), residency or assistantship and internship programmes. The duration of study is determined depending on an educational programme and is 3-4 years. Upon completion of final certification, learners are awarded corresponding diplomas. This level of education does not automatically lead to assigning a candidate's or a doctor's degree, but in accordance with the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) 2011 the highest qualification staff training programmes fall within the level of ISCED 8 – 'Doctorate or equivalent'.
